Ranking WWE's Divisions - From Worst To Best
7. SmackDown's Main Event
Jinder Mahal is WWE Champion.
Most people will be sick of hearing complaints about this, but it's worth reiterating. WWE clearly want us to accept this as a shrewd, creative move. But if he is closing shows, then most fans won't be hanging around for the main event. Until Jinder pulls off an in-ring performance worthy of the main event, he is simply unworthy.
The troubles don't stop there. Jinder's victory at Backlash is the latest in four WWE Championship matches on PPV where the champion fell to the challenger. The belt has been passed between Styles, Cena, Wyatt, and Orton, meaning it's been a bad start to 2017 for WWE's supposed top prize.
It's no secret that Randy Orton's face persona is hard to get behind, but he is at least capable of putting together decent matches. The real intrigue in this division is not Orton and Jinder however, but the upcoming Money in the Bank ladder match. This will introduce a new competitor to the fray, and each of the six possible winners has something to offer to the WWE Title scene.
The only direction for SmackDown's main event is up.
