Ranking WWE's Divisions - From Worst To Best

2. SmackDown's Mid-Card

Imagine this: WWE Backlash - former WWE Champion AJ Styles vs former Universal Champion Kevin Owens, and a match featuring Jinder Mahal. Which one is the main event, and which one is for a secondary title?

SmackDown's divisions are so messed up, I'm surprised Becky and Charlotte aren't Tag Team Champions. The Jinder fiasco is obviously partially responsible, but you cannot ignore what KO has been doing with the US Championship. By reinventing his character around his title, Owens has essentially taken the role of SmackDown's top champion by force.

The mid-card and main event have become slightly blurred by the Money in the Bank ladder match. Corbin, Zayn, Ziggler, and Nakamura are all capable of holding down exciting feuds outside of the main event, but the WWE Championship picture is in dire need of fresh blood.

Once a briefcase holder has emerged, the remaining competitors will go back to picking up the slack left by Jinder and Orton. That said, how long can the mid-card feature Owens, Nakamura, and Styles before it legitimately leapfrogs the main event scene? If the MITB ladder match goes on last come 18 June, we may have our answer.
