Rebooking WWE Great American Bash 2005: 8 Ways To Make It Better

8. MNM Vs. Booker T & Hardcore Holly - Tag Team Title

The original opener to the 2005 Great American Bash saw MNM take on the reformed, bastardised version of the Legion of Doom. With a beer bellied, clearly past-it Animal and a completely useless Heidenreich standing in for the deceased Hawk, this was so transparently a shameless way to promote the forthcoming Road Warriors DVD. That the über-talented MNM lost the belts within six-and-a-half minutes, was insulting. Instead of that shambles, this version of the GAB would have MNM (successfully) defend the straps against the hard-nosed veteran tag team of Booker T and Hardcore Holly. Bombastic Bob had failed in his bid to win the belts at Judgement Day and, with his partner recently fired, would recruit an invigorated Booker T, who had just found his mean streak after his personal feud with Kurt Angle. Holly and Booker had been teaming on house shows, anyway (usually against MNM). MNM would win a competitive 10-15 minute match with the Snapshot. Oh, and if they wanted to pimp the LOD DVD so bad, they could do it via a backstage segment, or something. Perhaps Ron Simmons could say 'damn'.
