Rebooking WWE Great American Bash 2005: 8 Ways To Make It Better

6. Mexicools Vs. Paul London/Billy Kidman/Akio

In real life, Kidman and Akio were cut before the Great American Bash PPV, victims of the cost-cutting that was undertaker in order to clear funds to bring Brock Lesnar back. Another theory as to why they were let go was that, with WWE bringing in three new cruiserweights in the form of the Mexicools, three had to be released. In this retconned version of events, Akio and Kidman keep their jobs and team up with Cruiserweight Champion Paul London to battle the would-be luchadores. At the original 2005 Bash, the Mexicools squared off with the bWo, in a horrible mess. London, Akio and Kidman would provide much more compatible opposition. The Mexicools would win, since they need to be kept strong having only recently debuted, in an eight minute match. Mexicools leader Juventud would pin champion London, setting up a programme between them two.
