Rebooking WWE Great American Bash 2005: 8 Ways To Make It Better

1. Batista Vs. Muhammed Hassan - World Heavyweight Title

Now this is where things get really interesting. Rumour has it that big Dave was supposed to face Muhammad Hassan at SummerSlam, in Batista's home state of Washington, D.C. Legend is that Batista would actually drop the World Heavyweight Title to Hassan, which would no doubt generate nuclear heat on the night. In our alternative 2005 Great American Bash, Hassan would challenge Batista for the title and win, instead of getting killed off by The Undertaker. WWE were forced to drop the Hassan character under pressure from UPN, following the ill-judged and unfortunately timed 'terrorist' angle on the July 7th Smackdown. After moving over to Smackdown from Raw in the draft, Hassan would immediately target Batista. Winning a tournament, featuring the likes of Rey Mysterio, Holly, JBL, Benoit, Booker etc., he would be named No.1 contender three weeks prior to the show. Over the next several weeks, he would talk down the 'American Superman' Batista, claiming he was everything wrong with the country. Dave would respond by destroying Hassan's manager, Daivari. The two would meet at the Great American Bash, with Hassan winning the WWE title in about ten minutes, after interference from a returning Randy Orton (who had been out since April following shoulder surgery). Batista was not translating well as champ, anyway, and it would set up both The Undertaker versus Hassan and Batista versus Orton at SummerSlam. What would you do differently at the 2005 Great American Bash? Was Muhammad Hassan ready for the World Heavyweight Title? Let us know in the comments section below!
