Repackaging WWE Survivor Series 1988

3. The Ring Rattlers Versus The Million $ Team

Mega Powers
WWE

Jake 'The Snake' Roberts and Big John Studd (co-captains), Hercules, The Junkyard Dog and The Blue Blazer versus 'Million Dollar Man' Ted DiBiase and André The Giant (co-captains), 'Ravishing' Rick Rude, Bad News Brown and Mr. Perfect (with Virgil and Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan).

Jake deserved better than the hand he was dealt at the 1988 edition. True, he was accompanied by trusted hands 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan and Tito Santana. The issue rested with his remaining partners; Ken Patera, who had one foot out the door before the match started, and 'Cowboy' Scott Casey, an eleventh-hour replacement for B. Brian Blair, who himself was scheduled to replace his original partner, The Junkyard Dog.

Amending this, the revision keeps JYD, as he was still a year from his stint in WCW. Additionally, Studd emerges from retirement a few weeks early to co-captain Jake's squad against longtime rival André. Hercules and the debuting Blue Blazer replace Patera and Casey to counter Mr. Perfect and DiBiase, André's co-captain in lieu of Dino Bravo. Lastly, Bad News Brown substitutes Harley Race, who is reassigned to the main event.

After Bad News begins his ritual of abandoning his teammates, a Rude Awakening drops JYD and Blazer fades in the Million $ Dream. Studd goes to double countout with DiBiase after Virgil intervenes and Roberts introduces Damien, triggering André to make a beeline for the exits. A DDT dismisses Rude before Roberts walks into the Perfect Plex to give the rookie the stunning victory.

Sole Survivor: Mr. Perfect
