Hulk Hogan and 'Macho Man' Randy Savage (co-captains), Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat, Hillbilly Jim and Koko B. Ware (with Miss Elizabeth) versus The Big Boss Man and Akeem (co-captains), King Haku, Harley Race and The Red Rooster (with Slick and Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan).

Incidentally, the main event of the evening requires the fewest adjustments. All major players from the original contest remain intact with the exception of DiBiase and Hercules who were shifted to the previous match. In their stead, The Twin Towers tap Harley Race to join fellow Heenan cohorts King Haku and The Red Rooster. Meanwhile, despite his exodus earlier in the year, Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat is summoned by The Hulkster and The Macho Man one final time before departing for WCW the following January.

A Randy Savage Elbow makes short work of The Rooster before The Towers shift the momentum with consecutive eliminations of Hillbilly Jim and Koko B. Ware. After King Haku's attempted Savate Kick misses its mark and Steamboat eliminates Harley Race, the ensuing shoving match makes the monarch an easy victim for Hogan.

His team imploding, Boss Man reverses the momentum, countering a diving crossbody from 'The Dragon' into a Sidewalk Slam for three. The former lawman is disqualified after handcuffing Hogan to the ropes and flogging him with his nightstick. Hogan is eventually freed and lines Akeem up for the Leg Drop before Savage makes the blind tag and gets the duke with another Diving Elbow.
