WWE were at one point keen to have a very small number of fans in attendance for WrestleMania 36, according to company superfan Chris 'Ringside Charlie' Adorno.

Adorno was one of a select few considered to attend the show before increased rules and regulations around gatherings resulted in WWE having to abandon the idea completely.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Adorno - who has attended every WrestleMania since the show began in 1985 - noted that; “A couple of people internally wanted me to come. They even said that if some fans were allowed in, I’d be at the top of the list. So there was definitely talk about the possibility, but with all of the strict guidelines, they were already at capacity for the amount of people they could have in the building. It wasn’t meant to be. If it was possible, I would have been there.

WWE ran the first new trailers for WrestleMania 37 during both empty arena evenings, with Adorno noting that his plans are already made assuming the world has returned to a version of normality by then. He added; “I already got my refund from the plane ticket to Tampa, and it’s been credited to my flight to Los Angeles next year for WrestleMania 37. I’ll be back next year, ready to go."
