Report: WWE Not Interested In Re-Signing Velveteen Dream

Velveteen Dream can't stay out of headlines at the moment - but WWE management isn't interested.

WWE management has no interest in bringing former top prospect Patrick 'Velveteen Dream' Clark back to the promotion.

Fightful Select that this stance goes back to before Clark's two August arrests, with one source stating that bringing back Dream, who was accused of sexual harassment committed against minors in 2020, would represent a "public relations nightmare." This, understandably, isn't something Stephanie McMahon, Nick Khan, and Paul 'Triple H' Levesque want to touch.

The report notes that Clark had significant backstage heat in WWE. He had also been spoken to about "unusual behaviour" at the Performance Center several times, with one coach considering him a "headache".

And although Dream wasn't released from his WWE contract until May 2021, Fightful notes that he had been mentioned as a potential candidate for release in June 2020, after his misconduct allegations arose but before the car crash that resulted in him being written off WWE television for a period.

It would take a "miracle" for WWE to bring Clark back, according to a source close to company higher-ups - and there was nothing to his recent social media teases about rejoining WWE either.

Clark has spent the past few days going back-and-forth with former NXT cohort EC3 through the media. This started on 4 September, when EC3 accused Clark of filming people using the bathroom without their knowledge during a party.
