Good friends, better enemies. Mysterio and Guerrero were dynamite when they were locking up with one another, but they also made for a rather formidable tag team. The latin sensations first joined forces in WCW, where they were members of the stable The Filthy Animals and had some good matches in the cruiserweight division, even if this run didn't yield championship gold.

When Rob Van Dam went down with a serious knee injury in early 2005 - forcing him and Rey to drop the WWE Tag Team Titles - Mysterio needed a new partner and chose Latino Heat. Their first match as a team resulted in instant success, as they dethroned the Basham Brothers in the opener of No Way Out 2005 to win the straps.

From there, they had decent matches on Smackdown, before their friendly rivalry resulted in a match between the pair at WrestleMania 21. After the dust had settled on that, they entered into a feud with MNM, which saw their partnership disintegrate. The matches themselves were solid, with matches at live events during the spring tour of Europe reportedly going close to 50 minutes each night.

Eventually, Guerrero turned on Rey, leading to a lengthy feud between the two. Like most of Mysterio's WWE tag team partners, the union may have been ephemeral, but it was golden when they were out there performing. Their chemistry was natural and it's a damn shame that they didn't get a longer run as a tag team.
