Edge is one of the most decorated tag team wrestlers in WWE history, having won a multiple versions of the tag titles with partners Christian, Hulk Hogan, Randy Orton and Chris Jericho. He also held the Smackdown Tag Team Titles in late 2002 with Mr. Mysterio, the team a product of Paul Heyman's heralded 'Smackdown Six'.

Heyman, as head writer of Smackdown, devised a three-way feud over the newly-created belts, putting Mysterio/Edge against Los Guerreros and the team of Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit. Edge and Rey clashed with the Olmypic Hero and the Crippler in a blistering tournament final match at No Mercy 2002, coming up just short after almost half an hour of world-class action.

A few weeks later, however, they won the straps, upending the champions in another classic contest, this time fought under 2/3 falls rules. Their reign would be brief, mind, as they dropped them to Los Guerreros at Survivor Series days later at Survivor Series. The elimination match (also featuring Benoit/Angle) was, naturally, another stunner.

Rey and Edge wouldn't recapture the titles, with Rey temporarily sidelined and set to undergo minor knee surgery. When he returned, Edge had moved on to a tag team with Benoit and he himself would soon hit the shelf due to a major neck injury which required surgery. That was the end of the Rey/Edge team, although they did tag on occasion later in their careers.

What an amazing collection of matches they had in late 2002, though.
