In WWE network’s Ruthless Aggression documentary, Ric Flair details just how bereft of confidence he was at the start of the 2000s. The final days of WCW took it out of him, and it wasn’t until joining forces with Triple H and Evolution that he got his groove back. Alongside Batista and Randy Orton, he seems once again to be having a blast on the big stage.

There are few men who could go toe to toe for sheer charisma with The Rock, but Flair’s one of them. He and The Rock one-up each other throughout this match - Rocky spoofs the Flair Strut, so the Nature Boy has his own (cruelly curtailed) go at the People’s Elbow. Flair can hype the crowd every time with a signature “woo!”, and does a lot to help Batista and Orton rise up the card.

This is a fun, zippy match in which Flair doesn’t look out of place alongside the young bucks or the returning heroes in Rock and Foley, as well as a key reminder that the veteran didn’t need putting out to pasture just yet.
