The Rock: 10 Great WWE Feuds We Never Got to See

2. Ric Flair

We got a small sampling of what this feud could have been in 2004 when The Rock came back to aid Mick Foley in his war with Evolution (mainly Randy Orton). Rock and Flair are pros at over-dramatizing without being too campy. Witness Rock€™s mock strutting during the Rock & Sock Connection beatdown and Flair€™s over-reactions during Rocky€™s promo: http://youtu.be/azHHEZv93rs?t=5m22s During their Mania match, the parts with Rock and Flair were easily the most entertaining. While the 3-on-2 matchup was built around an Orton-Foley feud, Fans came out of that match wanting a rivalry between The Great One and the Nature Boy. In such a fantasy feud, the promos would be off the charts, and the open mocking during a blowoff match would no doubt follow in the vein of the failed €œNature Boy Elbow.€ Bottom line, Rock and Flair are two of the industry€™s best, period. They were on the same roster for more than two years. There was no reason for WWE to miss this opportunity to pit them against each other, and the fleeting moments they did intersect prove it could have been a truly electrifying feud.
