With former Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey having been absent from WWE programming since WrestleMania 35, the Rowdy One has now provided an update of sorts on her current status with Vince McMahon's sports entertainment juggernaut.

Asked about the status of her WWE contract during a Facebook Live chat (as per POST Wrestling), Rousey revealed she herself is unsure on whether or not she is contractually tied to McMahon's organisation right now.

"I technically... I don't think I am, but who knows? That's a question for the lawyers."

The original deal between the one-time UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion and WWE expired in April of this year, although it remains to be seen if Rousey technically still has time that WWE deems she owes them.

Previously, we've seen the company extend the contract of talents who have had large spells out injured. With Ronda having spent the last year or her WWE deal away from the squared circle while she started a family, it could be that WWE may look to push to have Rousey to return at some point.

Of course, WWE's Nick Khan had at one point suggested Ronda may return in time for WrestleMania 37, prompting speculation that she may have signed a new contract. That 'Mania return didn't happen, with Rousey becoming pregnant and then giving birth to to baby La'akea in September.

Clearly WWE would love to have a star as big as Ronda Rousey back in the fold, and Rousey herself has revealed how she and Stephanie McMahon remain in relatively regular contact.
