Ronda Rousey's WWE Return: 10 Matches We Must See

9. Rhea Ripley

Last time Ronda wrestled, Rhea Ripley was still tearing it up in NXT UK. After that, Ripley emerged on the black and gold brand as a total badass. In taking the NXT Women’s title off Shayna Baszler she proved herself a more than credible threat to an otherwise dominant force with MMA credentials. Sound familiar? Sadly, by then “The Rowdy One” was already out of the picture.

Ripley has had a shaky time on the main roster. Despite an early victory over Asuka for the Raw Women’s Title, bad booking and indifferent creative seems to have drained Ripley of her confidence. Most weeks she looks like a shadow of her former self.

That said, she looked more confident this weekend than she has since last year's Rumble when she made it to the final two in a dramatic finale against Bianca Belair. This year she wrecked a couple of people, made short and slightly patronising work of guest spot Ivory and didn’t fall for Nikki A.S.H.’s attempt to ambush her from behind.

It would be good to see “The Nightmare” capitalise on that momentum. Hopefully WWE can wrap up her business with Nicki A.S.H. ASAP and get her back on track. A mini feud with Ronda could deliver an absolute banger.
