Ronda Rousey's WWE Return: 10 Matches We Must See

4. Asuka

It’s surprising when you realise these two never faced each other during Ronda’s first run. Especially when you consider Rousey debuted by interrupting Asuka’s Royal Rumble victory celebrations. That show of disrespect could have been used to set up a feud. Instead, Asuka remains the biggest superstar that was around during Ronda’s first run but didn’t get a match with “The Rowdy One”.

Rousey did interfere at TLC to help Asuka win her first SmackDown Women’s Championship by pushing Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair off a ladder. But that was more about gaining revenge on and furthering storylines with Asuka’s opponents.

Ultimately, the former UFC star spent most of her time defending the Raw Women’s title while “The Empress Of Tomorrow” was busying herself over on SmackDown, competing for that brand’s top title.

Asuka has gone on record naming Rousey as a dream opponent, and the WWE universe must surely feel the same? Admittedly Rousey was Asuka’s third pick after Ric Flair and Triple H, but this one is far and away the most likely.
