Samoa Joe Retains TNT Championship, And Cuts Wardlow's Man Bun
Wardlow lost more than his chance to become a two-time TNT Champion last night.
Samoa Joe is still your TNT Champion... and he also walked out of Dynamite with another trophy to add to his collection.
With Wardlow looking to avenge his losing of the strap to Joe in a three-way bout at Full Gear, which also included Powerhouse Hobbs, Mr. Mayhem collided with The King of Television on last night's New Year's Smash episode of AEW Dynamite.
But after warring with his dominant rival in the wake of being battered with a lead pipe by Joe earlier in the evening, it was Joe who walked out of the arena still boasting two TV Championships as Wardlow passed out in the Coquina Clutch.
Not finished there, though, the TNT and ROH TV Champion targeted his opponent once again as he blasted his vulnerable adversary with the former title after the match. It was here when Joe then decided to separate Wardlow from his beloved man bun with a pair of scissors.
Thankfully, Darby Allin was on hand to make the save before Joe could give Wardlow an even shorter trim. But the damage was already done and now Wardlow World is without both the TNT strap and his glorious top knot.
The disrespect by TNT Champion @SamoaJoe is met by a surprise attack by former TNT Champion @DarbyAllin!What an incredible night of action it has been at the #AEWDynamite: #NewYearsSmash on TBS! pic.twitter.com/yVPgRAGfpi
