Scorpio Sky has spoken frankly about the current status of his career, and a lack of communication with AEW about why that might be.

Speaking on his podcast "Creating Character with Scorpio Sky & James Willems"

"My career has sure taken a nosedive, hasn't it? I don't know if there is bad blood or not. I know I'm healthy and I've been healthy for a long time and I've been wanting to compete. It's just one of those things, what can you do?"

He referenced a prior interview with Chris Van Vliet where he'd last spoken about the matter, adding; "I love that show. To be honest with you, I didn't lie when I was on the show, but I definitely went out of my way to not make the company look bad. I really obviously wanted to preserve a relationship that has been built over a number of years and I didn't want to say anything that would poison that relationship. Come to find out, someone there, still, maybe has a few issues with some of the things I may have said. Now I'm like, 'Screw it, I'm going to say whatever the hell I want now"

Sky was an AEW Original and one half of the first Tag Team Champions for the company as part of SCU alongside Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels. He competed against Chris Jericho for the AEW World Championship on the 27th November 2019 edition of Dynamite, and went on to score two reigns as TNT Champion during a hot potato run with Sammy Guevara.

Sky's last televised match for All Elite Wrestling came on the 16th September edition of Collision, where he was defeated by Andrade. He worked two Ring Of Honor over the following two weeks, scoring wins against Fred Rosser and Dante Martin, but everything he's done since then has been outside the auspices of Tony Khan. There was a return vignette for him on the June 17th episode of AEW Collision, but the comeback itself never happened, and he's worked a total of nine matches (as of writing) for various promotions ever since.
