Scott Steiner: 5 Awesome Matches And 5 That Sucked

2. Scott Steiner vs. Triple H - Royal Rumble 2003

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x10g232_wwe-royal-rumble-2003-scott-steiner-vs-triple-h-world-heavyweight-championship_sport?search_algo=2 I honestly don't know what I can say about this match that hasn't already been said. When the feud leading up to it was all about who looked better with their shirt off and could do more pushups we should have known what was coming. But fans were so genuinely excited to have Steiner in WWE that we were all optimistic that his time there would yield gold. Immediately upon arriving Steiner was thrust into the main event scene, squaring off with HHH at the Royal Rumble. Steiner was coming off an injury (something he dealt with regularly throughout the latter part of his career) and HHH was not in peak ring condition at this point. Forearms. Chops. Forearms. And belly to belly suplexes. So...many...belly to belly suplexes. Both guys got winded pretty early and then Steiner reverted to what he knows best, which is suplexing grown men like they're small children, and basically attempted to just do that for the rest of the match. It was so bad that the crowd turned on him mid-match, and not in a Hart/Austin way. The Wrestling Observer awarded this the prestigious Worst Worked Match Of The Year award, so WWE did what any successful business would do and gave us a rematch a month later. Which was also bad.
