Monday's attack by Bronson Reed was done to write Seth Rollins off WWE TV.

Having been taken out in brutal, brilliant fashion by Bronson Reed on this week's Raw, it appears that Seth Rollins is set for a hiatus from WWE programming.

Speaking on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio (via WrestlingNews.co), Dave Meltzer noted how Monday's attacks on Rollins and Dakota Kai were to cover for possible injuries.

As Meltzer detailed:

"I don't know how serious. I asked if those were storyline covers for injuries, and I was told they both were. But Seth is not a bad situation. Like, Seth is cleared. He could wrestle but, you know, he's banged up, and so it was a good time for him to take time off and do this. So, I don't know if he'll be back for [WWE Bash in Berlin] against Bronson Reed. Obviously, he's going to wrestle Bronson Reed [at some point]."

It's been quite the tough year for Seth Rollins in terms of the grind of the road, with him damaging his knee in a match against Jinder Mahal in January. That caused the Visionary to miss some ring time in the build to WrestleMania 40, where he was able to gut through the big Night 1 tag match, drop the World Heavyweight Title to Drew McIntyre on Night 2, and close out 'Mania by coming to help Cody Rhodes. In the aftermath of WrestleMania, Seth took some time off to undergo meniscus surgery, with him then returning to challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank in July. Now, it sounds as if it's a case of Rollins still being banged up and just needing a bit of time away from the squared circle.

As for Dakota Kai, there are no details on what's keeping the Damage CTRL grappler on the shelf right now. On Monday, Kai was advertised to face Sonya Deville, although a backstage attack on Dakota was done in order for her to be swapped out of that match for IYO SKY.
