Just when you thought WWE had ran out of awful names for its events, the company has again outdone itself by announcing WWE SmackVille. Yes, SmackVille.

The special event will take place on Saturday, July 27th from Nashville, Tennessee and air live on WWE Network.

WWE SmackVille will be headlined by Kofi Kingston defending his WWE Championship in a triple threat bout against Samoa Joe and Dolph Ziggler. The only other match announced for the show is newly-crowned Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Finn Balor. Oh, and there’ll also be a special musical performance by Elias.

So far, WWE has yet to actually announce which venue will be hosting the show, although it'll obviously come from the live event already scheduled for Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on July 27th.

Previously, that July 27th house show was billed as a SmackDown live event that was part of WWE’s SummerSlam Heatwave tour. Clearly, as is often the case with WWE, plans have changed.

There’s no word right now on exactly why WWE has decided to make such a big deal of this Nashville house show, but it’s always fun to get a glimpse at the company’s house show events whenever they put such things on the WWE Network.
