5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (10 Oct - Results & Review)

4. Bangers Incoming

Cody Rhodes Jacob Fatu
WWE

This writer's holiday (how selfish!) meant he missed out on seeing Jacob Fatu match up with Drew McIntyre on the 26 September SmackDown at the time, but glancing back at the segment reveals that big things are coming Jacob's way. This week, he stared down Cody Rhodes and teased a WWE Title challenge in the back. Then, Nick Aldis walked in and said he wanted to talk to Jacob.

Suddenly, an angry Drew ambushed him, so you just know there’s at least one banger between these guys incoming. That match will be hard-hitting, to say the least, and if it leads to Fatu “levelling up” (as Aldis put it) then that’d be a great thing too. He’s been lost in the mix too much lately. Fatu returned the favour by attacking Drew later on.

Fair's fair.

Can anyone else foresee Fatu and McIntyre going to a non-finish in order to line up a Triple Threat with Rhodes for the belt come Survivor Series? That is, of course, unless any of those guys are needed for WarGames shenanigans on the same show. They might not be though, which would free the trio up to put on a delicious banger to rival The Rock vs. Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle from Vengeance 2002.

How's that for a throwback?! These lads can have a match that awesome if they put their minds to it, and the fact there'd be 3 of them involved means poor Cody wouldn't have to cut more promos on his lonesome for a while. He must get pretty sick of doing that whilst WWE Champion. It seems to happen a lot.
