Sting may not be contracted to WWE anymore, but that didn't stop the wrestling legend from teasing a return for one "last ride" on social media on Wednesday.

The Stringer tweeted the following as night turned to morning:-

The mentioned "'last' ride" is a direct reference to The Undertaker following the conclusion of the Deadman's Network series. A potential Sting vs. 'Taker dream match has been in fans' minds for decades and it looks like the topic will keep coming up until one of them has passed away, though the two icons could probably do a good job in a protected cinematic bout.

2020 has seenseveral rumours of an in-ring return for the retired veteran. It was reported earlier in the year that he may be tempted to return for a big Saudi Arabian payday and in defence of those reports, Sting has never been shy of hiding how tempted he is to work another match. Nothing has come to pass, however, and May brought stories that he was no longer under WWE contract.

New 61 years old (!), Sting hasn't wrestled since Night of Champions 2015, injuring his neck while working Seth Rollins.
