4. Remind Fans Of What WCW Was
WWE.comRight now there are WWE fans 15 years of age and under that likely never saw WCW. That company exists for them only on the network and through stories from their parents that witnessed the biggest war that the industry has ever known being waged on Monday nights. For those young fans, there is currently no direct connection from today's WWE product to the company that once nearly destroyed them. But Sting could change all of that. Sting would be the link between the present and the past. He has always been highly respected by his peers and by the fans so his words would carry immense weight to everyone that heard them. He would be the one to extol the virtues of the company that produced The Four Horsemen, Goldberg and The nWo. He could share stories of a young Eddie Guererro, Chris Jericho and Stone Cold Steve Austin. He would bring together fans of today and yesterday while proving by his sheer presence alone that truly anything can happen in WWE. The fact is that WWE has no direct competition today; there is no company that pushes them to be better or makes them want to improve. This WWE is one that has become very complacent in the minds of many fans that long for the days when Vince McMahon's company was on the ropes, fighting to be the best pro wrestling on TV. Sting would be the man to remind the crowd what that felt like and as previously mentioned in this countdown, he could become a strong presence on the WWE Network. The WCW product would come to life again thanks to the man that helped carry that company to success for so many years.
