7. Sting's Role In Cena Vs Brock At SummerSlam

WWE.comThe follow up to the beatdown debut would be Sting acting as the catalyst for John Cena and Brock Lesnar's SummerSlam match. Lesnar would once again come out on Raw to bully Sting. This sets the narrative for a babyface hero to make the save. That man would have to be John Cena, the modern day franchise version of Sting. Cena runs to the ring in aid of Sting and that right there establishes blows between Cena and Lesnar. The Beast ducks out of the ring, but not before pulling John's belt from the apron. He looks at the title, before staring back to Cena and Sting in the ring. Based off of this angle, Cena vs Lesnar is booked for SummerSlam, with Sting backing up Cena's corner. Sting would be managing the younger wrestler against The Beast, a bit like the spot Hulk Hogan had been rumoured for when pre-WrestleMania reports said he would corner for John Cena against Bray Wyatt at Mania 30 Given that WWE are investing a major heel run in Brock, he wins over Cena at SummerSlam. However, Sting's babyface status will have been elevated via the main event association, and Cena too will have gained from being endorsed by Sting.
