Sting vs The Undertaker: 10 Angles WWE Must Play Out

4. Sting's Problems With Authority

After the revelation that The Undertaker has accepted Sting's challenge, Sting wants the match sooner rather than later. Unfortunately, The Undertaker is nowhere to be found. Sting runs around week after week trying to locate him, going through any opponent fed to him. This leads to a minor rivalry with Triple H, the man in charge who keeps feeding mid-carders to Sting without finding the guy he really wants. Sting rolls through the Autumn battling through the roster, constantly speaking of how he will find The Undertaker, even if it's the last thing he ever does. Numerous times, Undertaker's famous promos appear, with lights going down, lightning bolts hitting the ring, and gothic imagery playing out on the big screens. But still no Deadman. As Sting battles through The Authority in the hope of finding his rival, he begins to wonder if his fight is really going to be worth it. Instead, he sets his sights on the top prize of the company; the WWE Championship. A #1 contenders tournament for Brock Lesnar's belt sees him eliminated midway through, thanks to interference from Corporate Kane. The resulting weeks see Sting take down Kane in the hope that he will both get closer to The Undertaker and Triple H, but he only gets the latter. A Survivor Series clash between Sting and Kane gives him another victory for his tally, while he manages to make self-confessed Sting fan Triple H tap out at the TLC PPV to keep his WWE ambitions alive, and he soon after secures a place in the Royal Rumble.
