Sting To WWE: 10 Big Talking Points

2. Is It All Too Late?

Sting A It's true, WWE and Sting may have left all of this a bit too late in the day. The Icon will be 56 by the time his rumoured Mania 31 match rolls around, and even now, at 55 his body is worn down from years of wrestling bumps. He is by no means a young 55. The reality is that what's happening now needed to happen ten years ago. Then the reality of Sting competing could live up to the imagination of what we have for him. He will probably manage to be a big star in WWE based upon his past glories, but he isn't going to get anywhere near having a match of the year or anything at 55. His body is old and worn. Yes, he has managed to put together some good showings in TNA, but it's a different environment and style in WWE. He also has the issue that he already has three months of ring rust on him at the time of writing. The longer he remains inactive, the harder it will be. If Sting can't wrestle, one role he could occupy is the General Manger of Raw. I personally think this is a horrible idea. However, several sites have reported that this has been one of the WWE creative ideas for bringing Sting in. Let's hope not, it's totally not in fitting with his character.
