5. Adding Him As A Draw To A B Level PPV
We have mentioned bringing in Sting around WrestleMania or SummerSlam, but what about selling a B level PPV off of his name? When you think about it, it makes sense. The likes of SummerSlam and WrestleMania are bought regardless of content, the name factor of Mania shifts the product. Something like Payback of Battleground doesn't have the same allure. By WWE promoting Sting's debut for one of these B level events, it gives the show a reason to be watched. Built up with videos pushing who Sting is and the intrigue around why he's coming in would benefit the PPV buys and reasons to subscribe. Particularly with the Network we need to see the level of B shows improving, some subscriptions will expire around the B show graveyard of the autumn, WWE need to make some compelling reasons for those subscribers to stick around Sting could offer that factor. Once established with sporadic Raw appearances onwards, it then makes most sense for Sting to compete at WrestleMania 31. But firstly his value on a B level PPV could be a helpful consideration.
