4. The Royal Rumble
There are two ways WWE could book Sting to debut at the Royal Rumble, either as a surprise entrant on the night, or advertised as a debut and entrant in advance as a reason to buy the event. One thing for sure, debuting at the Rumble would be the kind of grand introduction any character needs in order to get over with the fans. It's a momentum charger. WWE may choose to hold off Sting until the Rumble with building his Mania 31 match in mind. A contest for Sting against a heel at WrestleMania is easily set up at the Royal Rumble. WWE just need to do the tried and tested formula of having a sneaky heel unfairly eliminate Sting from the 30 man contest. The need for a score-settling feud is then established. This is what WWE did with Lesnar and Goldberg in 2004, and in much better fashion with Jericho / Michaels in 2003. Jericho is in fact one of best choices to book against Sting. He should be booked as the underhanded heel who screws Sting out of the Rumble, leading to a feud that's sure to give us a great match at WrestleMania 31. The scorpion death lock vs the walls of Jeircho has strong dynamics. Jericho also has the mic skills to sell the feud brilliantly in the build up.
