Sting To WWE: 10 Ways To Book His Debut Now Undertaker Has Gone
3. John Cena Vs Sting
One man who always proves a compelling character is John Cena. If WWE are looking to replace Undertaker against Sting, Cena represents a safe bet. He's a competent worker who proved adept at getting good matches out of part time acts like Brock Lesnar and The Rock in 2012, he could be asked to do the same for Sting in 2014. The feud would also work well in that Cena would guarantee Sting cheers, he could function much like he did against Rock, building his promos to get his opponent over as the cool choice to back. The build of promos would be entertaining and the eventual match could be fun as they duel their finishers and submission holds. Cena doesn't need to go heel in all of this, it can be booked as Taker Vs Sting would have been, face versus face. The crowd would then make Sting the popular choice with their standard crowd reactions for Cena. It certainly has marquee appeal and the name factor WWE would require to make Sting a worthwhile investment. The time to book it would again be in the January period culminating at WrestleMania 31, but WWE could just as easily fit this match in at a B level event or SummerSlam. It's set up as easily as Sting coming out and talking about his WCW legacy, then he says "I came here to test myself against WWE's best. I want John Cena to come to this ring and look me in the eye to say he's better than me."
