The American Wolves To Reunite On Indie Event
The former IMPACT World Tag Team Champions will reunite on 30 October.
Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards are set to wrestle their first match together in over four years come 30 October.
The Wrestling REVOLVER, ran by IMPACT's Sami Callihan, confirmed the news on Tuesday evening, announcing the Wolves' reunion for their first show back. That goes down just before Halloween in Clive, Iowa. No opponents have yet been announced for the former IMPACT World Tag Team Champions, although the likes of Rich Swann and Trey Miguel have also been confirmed for the show.
Officially debuting the (American) Wolves name in 2008, Edwards and Richards are a world-class tandem, with two reigns as ROH World Tag Team Champions and five as IMPACT tag champions to their name. Their last outing together went down on 29 January 2017 for Beyond Wrestling, where they defeated a pre-LAX version of Ortiz and Santana.
Davey Richards recently returned to wrestling after a four year absence, signing a contract with Major League Wrestling. He's wrestled IMPACT's TJP, ROH's Jonathan Gresham, and rising indie prospect Jordan Oliver, amongst others, since.
In speaking to WhatCulture ahead of Slammiversary, Eddie Edwards had the following to say on a potential Wolves reunion:-
"Wrestling, as I say, anything is possible. You never say never. Me and Davey, we stay in touch. It's something that we would like to do down the road, I know, so it's definitely an option. Who, when, or where it'll happen, no idea, but it could definitely happen."
