The Complete A-Z Of Wrestling In 2018

8. S - Shawn Michaels

Asuka Zack Sabre Jr
WWE

'The Heartbreak Kid' broke hearts for real when he bid farewell to a company that never truly replaced his talents in 2010, but a one-off return from retirement reduced hero to zero after the disastrous Crown Jewel D-Generation-X/Brothers Of Destruction main event.

Shawn himself never looked particularly pleased to be involved despite what one assumes was an extremely generous compensation package. The only thing more tragic that his pre-match hype photos and post-match regrets was the match itself. Michaels stopped plenty of shows in his career, but never previous had one screech to halt because his opponent's wig fell off.
