The Cool Hidden Story Behind Paul Wight's AEW Entrance Music

AEW pulled something special out of the bag when making Paul Wight's theme music.

"Weeeeeeeeeeeell...it's the Big Show".

That familiar refrain once rang out countless times on WWE programming. Big Show's theme was tweaked in 2006 too - the original version (said to be belted out by Michael Hayes) was replaced by one recorded by Syracuse rockers Brand New Sin.

On Wednesday, AEW introduced some fresh sounds for Paul Wight that should've been recognisable to his long-time fans. AEW producer Mikey Rukus tweeted to reveal that Sin vocalist Joe Altier was enlisted to perform a sequel of sorts to the Big Show classic.

There's something wonderfully fanboy-ish about that.

Altier replied to the tweet thanking Rukus for thinking of him and said, "the cat is out the bag". He also said he had a blast working with AEW and continuing his association with Wight over into new surroundings.

Here's the track for those who haven't heard it:

It opens with the classic, "Weeeeeeeeeeeell" line, but doesn't follow the same swaggering beat as Show's previous track. In fact, it's a little more up-tempo all-round. The song, called "New Room, New View" is a Southern rock banger that's worth listening to though.
