The Fiend: All Live Appearances Ranked From Worst To Best
3. The Fiend Attacks Seth Rollins At Clash Of Champions 15th September 2019
They had us with this one.
Everyone had predicted a Fiend appearance ahead of time. It seemed like the obvious way to introduce Wyatt back into the main event scene and announce his pursuit of the Universal Champion: wait for Seth Rollins to successfully defend his title and then out go the lights.
Still, a victorious Rollins celebrated his victory and managed to make it all the way back up the entrance ramp unharmed. It really looked as though the PPV would go off air without Fiend-related incident.
Then he struck.
The Fiend hit Rollins with a Sister Abigail and a Mandible Claw, and the PPV went off air to the sound of his evil laughter.
So often our perception of a PPV is coloured by the last thing that happens on the night. Clash of the Champions had been patchy. This was the final, thrilling act that elevated everything that preceded it.
Fair play to WWE. They managed to surprise us with something we’d all seen coming a mile off.
