3. WrestleMania 33: AJ Styles Vs Shane McMahon

After an incredible WWE debut at the Royal Rumble, the company hasn’t always known what to do with AJ Styles. A bonafide A-lister, it can seem odd to see him booked in the opening match at WrestleMania, especially against the boss’ son.

While Shane’s more recent in-ring appearances have been questionable at best, this is an exception to the rule. McMahon is best known for his wild risk taking, but WrestleMania 33 is probably his best ever performance. He has been boning up on his MMA holds, and even pulls out a shooting star press (which misses the mark, unfortunately).

He runs through his usual bumps, too, but the Shane McMahon we see here can hang with AJ remarkably well. Styles tends to pull other performers up to his level, and Shane certainly proves this to be the case here.

Accusations of nepotism will dog Shane whenever he steps foot in the ring, and a lot of the time they’re well founded, but here he’s every much as responsible for a fun and exciting match as the full time pro is.
