The Heenan Family Ranked - From Worst To Best
11. Hercules
Wrestling in the '80s was weird. The wrestlers were portrayed in a slightly underhand way as nothing more than glorified slaves, fighting men who were contracted to managers who could buy and sell them on a whim. The transfer of contracts from manager to manager was common place, and Bobby Heenan wasn't afraid of getting involved himself.
Heenan purchased Hercules from 'The Doctor of Style' Slick, and the strongman seemingly gained an immediate boost. He would challenge Hulk Hogan for the WWF Championship on an episode of Saturday Night's Main Event in 1986, coming up short despite being close to making the Hulkster tap out. This was the pinnacle of his career.
Under Heenan's tutelage, Hercules would also have an all-time WrestleMania stinker against the Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania IV. In 1988, Heenan sold Hercules' contract to Ted DiBiase, who openly referred to Hercules as a slave. Bad move.
