The Major Problem About WWE's "New Era" Nobody Wants To Talk About
If this really is a "New Era" for WWE, then it's about time Triple H fixed this MASSIVE problem.
Amidst all the family drama, confirmation of a Story potentially being Finished, and CM Punk somehow making the world long for one more round between 'The Best and the World' and 'The Great One', Triple H uttered a quite fascinating statement.
After taking a walk down 'Mania memory lane, talking up the company's gigantic new Netflix deal, and dropping the names of the many (male) icons WWE has forged over the years, 'The Game' proclaimed that we were now living in "a new time", "a new era", and "an all new WWE."
Now sure, there is no getting away from the fact a lot of that "new" rhetoric was likely designed to distance both WWE and TKO from a disgraced former WWE Chairman whose fingerprints were all over that aforementioned history 'Papa H' was so fondly recalling moments before.
Even from just that occasionally rather bold press conference, however, it does honestly seem like Trips and co. are consciously trying to do things a little differently going forward. And it's about damn time!
But while WWE do seem to finally be experimenting a bit further up the card, and treating certain parts of their roster with some long-awaited care and attention in this fresh "new era", the same sadly cannot be said for arguably the company's most exciting and promising division.
We've come a long way since the days of awkward Bra & Panties clashes and Diva searches, make no mistake.
After seeing the women once again outdoing their male counterparts during this year's Rumble matches, a number of genuine stars demanding your attention whenever they pop up on screen, and more exceptional female talent on the roster than ever before, why does it still feel like WWE's "new era" is about to deliver more of the frustrating same?
If things are actually about to be taken to "a whole new level", it's time Triple H addressed the major problem in the game he's currently attempting to play...
