After failing to defeat Chris Benoit throughout 2014, you'd think Triple H would be fairly pleased with Randy Orton for pinning the Rabid Wolverine and bringing the World Heavyweight Championship back into the Evolution fold. Orton may have been the golden boy but Hunter was still the leader of the pack, and as such having the champ under his control may have been the best situation for him.

Triple H didn't quite see it that way of course, and decided that Orton carrying the title meant that the spotlight was in danger of being taken from him. I mean, Orton did beat Benoit for the World Heavyweight Championship on the same night that Triple H beat Eugene after all.

The Evolution turn against Randy Orton became iconic. The Legend Killer was on top of Batistia's shoulders, everyone with their thumbs in the air. Triple H's complexion changed and the thumb turned down, leading to an ill-advised face turn for Orton and eventual championship gold for Triple H.
