After losing his mask and going on something of a violent rampage, Kane moved back down to the card following his loss to The Undertaker at WrestleMania XX. This didn't mean an improvement in stories however, as the Big Red Monster spent the rest of 2004 and a lot of 2005 embroiled in a story with Lita and Matt Hardy.

The story was notorious for how distasteful it was at pretty much every turn, as Lita spurned Kane's advances only for the Demon to kidnap and impregnate her. Yes, this is a thing that happened. Things got worse as Kane defeated Matt Hardy at SummerSlam, which meant that Lita was contractually obliged to marry Kane. And people say the PG Era is a bad thing!

Kane then turned face via Snitsky causing Lita to miscarry. The whole storyline was horrific and should most definitely be consigned to the bin of history. Kane's acting skills were fairly on point throughout, but that isn't enough to forgive the general stink of the era for Kane.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
