The Many Faces Of Mick Foley Ranked - From Worst To Best

3. The Hardcore Legend

Despite appearing in the main event of WrestleMania 2000, Foley's true WrestleMania moment didn't come until six years later. At WrestleMania 22 Foley went up against Edge in a brutal Hardcore match that ended with Edge spearing Foley off the ring apron and through a flaming table. It sure as hell hurt, but it was the iconic Show of Shows moment that this legend richly deserved.

Somehow this all led to Foley turning heel in the summer of 2006, his first stint on the bad side in WWE since 1998. He aligned with the man that rugby-tackled him into the fire to provide plenty of spanners to throw into the working of the rejuvenated ECW. Foley began to be precious about his standing as the 'Hardcore Legend', delivering some of the finest promos of his career.

Foley wasn't long for the heel world, however, and he turned face once his feud with Ric Flair wrapped up in the summer. This real-life beef reached its peak with a violent 'I Quit' match at SummerSlam, arguably the best match of that type in WWE history.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
