The Miz finally turned on John Morrison during last night's episode of WWE Raw, as the promotion pulled the trigger on a split several weeks in the making.

Things started falling apart in Morrison's Moist TV segment with Logan Paul. Miz came out halfway through, attempting to babyface Paul (whom the crowd utterly rejected), before Morrison accused his tag team partner of trying to make everything about himself. They bickered until Xavier Woods interrupted, leading to Miz's singles match with the New Day man.

Xavier ended up taking advantage of the heels' disarray to score the victory, notching the pinfall via roll-up after Morrison had inadvertently distracted Miz. The post-match angle then saw Morrison attempt to patch things up with the former WWE Champion, who acted as if everything was okay for a few seconds, then went right after his now-former partner.

A beatdown followed, with Miz dropping Morrison why Skull Crushing Finale for extra emphasis. Chants of "why, Miz, why?" rang out in San Diego, marking the turn a success.

Morrison cut a brief backstage promo later on, leading to him being booked in a match with "that double-crossing son-of-a-b*tch" on next week's show.

Miz and Morrison had been attached at the hip since the latter's return to WWE after nine years away in January 2020. They teamed extensively throughout Morrison's first run with the company as well, doing so from 2007 until the draft split them apart in 2009.
