Truth be told, The Miz's reign as WWE champion wasn't nearly as deplorable as fans paint it out to be. He had a string of solid matches against a variety of opponents, including his former tag team partner John Morrison. Who would have ever envisioned The Dirt Sheet Duo headlining a WWE pay-per-view for the WWE Championship with John Cena?

Well, it happened at Extreme Rules 2011 inside a Steel Cage, no less. Miz and Cena had already been feuding for months, though Morrison earned entry into the match with a win over the former No. 1 Contender R-Truth on the Apr. 21 edition of Raw. Speaking of whom, he made his presence felt in this match by getting involved and costing Morrison the title before he could escape the cage.

Everyone had an excellent outing here, especially Morrison with his awesome-looking Starship Pain off the top of the cage. Despite taking a double suplex from Cena and Morrison and landing right on the back of his neck, Miz powered through the bout. He was on the verge of hitting a Skull Crushing Finale from the top rope when Cena reversed it into an ultimate Attitude Adjustment for the victory and his first world title in nearly a year.
