The One Faction WWE Need To Push In 2019

Cole and his Undisputed Era cronies promised to sweep the board in 2019, with a cool photoshop of them with all the NXT titles doing the rounds to some acclaim from fans and wrestlers alike. The booking of the belts made perfect sense in the real world, which helped. Combinations of Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong all carried the doubles division when it desperately needed direction, whilst Cole's own stewardship of the new North American Championship gave the secondary strap a perfect start in life before he dropped it to Ricochet in, what was then at least, his best ever NXT encounter.

Cole's New York defeat has left the entire group at a crossroads. Teased tension on television has played into a group failure to get the 'Panama City Playboy' to the top of the tree, picking at a thread that's not yet frayed amongst the obnoxious quartet - what is the true modus operandi of The Undisputed Era?

The stable has benefitted from dramatic irony - audiences see Cole in his own "BAY BAY" shirt just as they do an entrance tailored around his electric call-and-response taunts just as they do every match where he chases shortcuts stolen because of their grunt work. The fans are in on his endgame even if Fish, O'Reilly and Strong appear not to be. Them figuring him out now would surely wreck the chance of seeing all four make it to the main roster with the same make-up. And what a tragedy that would be.
