The One Tag Team WWE Need To Push In 2019

Sami Zayn Daniel Bryan
WWE

As far as specific storylines go, Zayn and Bryan could retain Rowan's services as an enforcer, giving them a big, beefy meat shield to hide behind when the going gets tough, putting them over as the division's biggest hypocrites.

Installing them as Becky Lynch-style double-champions makes the most sense, or unifying Raw and SmackDown's Tag Titles so that Zayn and Bryan aren't rooted to one specific show. As things stand, neither division has enough competition to keep these two rolling. They can't be feuding with goobers like The Colons. Instead, they should bounce back and forth, picking fights with everyone from The Usos and Viking Raiders on Raw to the healed Hardy Boyz and New Day on SmackDown.

Bouts with the aforementioned teams would light up any pay-per-view, particularly if given the same level of freedom of those classic New Day vs. Usos bouts in 2017. The tag division would therefore become a haven for any fan who craves a stronger in-ring product, and the character work should be just as strong, establishing Bryan and Zayn as one of Sports Entertainment's most valuable acts.

This is all wishful thinking, of course. That Vince McMahon made Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins Raw Tag Team Champions at WrestleMania 35 shows he still views the division as a joke. Regardless, a condescending Sami Zayn/Daniel Bryan alliance could be the sweet, sweet tonic required to bring the scene back to life.

Instead, look forward to Heavy Machinery's 300-day SmackDown Title run commencing later this year.
