The One Thing AEW MUST Do At Full Gear 2020

Darby Allin
AEW

This card is loaded with wrestlers chasing elite status, many of whom will be headlining AEW pay-per-views for years to come.

MJF and Hangman Page are the furthest along at the time of writing. The former has defeated Cody in a dramatic grudge match, fought for Jon Moxley's AEW World Championship (losing only because Mox cheated), and shared huge chunks of airtime with Chris Jericho this year. Felling 'Le Champion' potentially puts him in The Inner Circle at Jericho's expense, setting him up for his next leap up the hierarchy. Page, meanwhile, is a hugely popular blue-collar babyface who wrestled in AEW's first World Title match, is fresh off an acclaimed Tag Team Title run with Kenny Omega, and is rediscovering his mojo ahead of a match guaranteeing the winner number one contender's status.

Sammy Guevara has benefitted immensely from sitting under Jericho's learning tree, becoming the veteran's de facto protégé. While his push has wavered as a consequence of his Sasha Banks comments resurfacing and the snakebit Matt Hardy feud, he boasts immense potential as a snot-nosed heel with the most punchable babyface in wrestling, or a fired-up babyface upset at MJF taking his spot, depending on results at Full Gear.

Orange Cassidy is already over to unforeseen levels as a legitimate quarter-hour needle-mover. His Buy In opponent, John Silver, is at the first stage of breaking out, maximising every minute with his humungous personality.

Also on the card is the man who stands to benefit the most from a Full Gear victory: Darby Allin, who faces Cody for the fourth time in his AEW career.
