Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder's main roster debut is one worth rewatching on the WWE Network. Episode #1245 on April 3rd 2017 is opened by Roman Reigns saying just five words and headlined by Finn Bálor fooling us into thinking his return would work out just fine, but is highlighted by The Revival's arrival.

Entering to a monster pop from a crowd that probably saw them exit the building 48 hours earlier as NXT icons, Dash and Dawson confidently stomp to the ring to answer an open challenge from The New Day, legendarily pushing over the group's ice cream truck in the process. They plough through the trio and injure Kofi Kingston in the process. The message from arrival to departure was as literal as it was figurative - playtime is over, so are The Revival, and get the f*ck out of the way.

One senses it wasn't Vince McMahon himself instructing Corey Graves to shout "Yes, yes, a thousand times YES!" as the pair stepped to the company-canon "greatest tag team in WWE history". In the arena, the fans were literally answering his call, chanting "Yeah" back to their entrance theme with pavlovian thirst.

For once, a call-up was about to live up to all the excitement and expectation generated within the safe space that was NXT. For once, there was nothing bad booking could do to in the face of great wrestlers. For once, an act wasn't going to be more over on Being The Elite than the WWE's main roster.

Or, you know, "F*ck The Revival."
