The Revival Could Start For AEW Immediately - WWE Contract Had No No-Compete Clause

The Top Guys are free to compete anywhere they want, as soon as they want? Say yeah!

After months of inevitability, WWE finally confirmed earlier today that the company has parted ways with The Revival. While many wrestling fans are expecting the ridiculously talented tandem of Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson to be AEW-bound, it looks as if we could see the duo turn up in an All Elite ring sooner than expected.

As is so often the case when WWE releases a talent from their contract, it was presumed that these multiple-time WWE Tag Team Champions’ future would be initially restricted due to having a 90-day no-compete clause in their deal. Apparently, that is not the case.

Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin – who these days has a working relationship with WWE – took to Twitter to confirm that The Revival have no such no-compete clause in their contracts. As such, Dash and Dawson will be free to wrestle for another company as soon as they see fit.

Of course, right now there’s huge uncertainty over just when, where, and how new wrestling programming – be that WWE, AEW, NWA, ROH, NJPW, wherever – will be recorded due to the ongoing chaos engulfing the globe.

Given previous comments from The Revival and The Young Bucks, it seems a no-brainer that AEW could well be in Dash and Dawson’s future. Although that said, their aesthetic and style would be perfect for a quick pitstop in Billy Corgan’s National Wrestling Alliance.

WWE has recently moved to trademark any and all possible Revival-based names that they can, so Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson will have to change up their own names, let alone their team name, wherever they do end up competing.
