As Jamie Hayter's popularity visibly and audibly grew across the summer months of this year, fans eagerly anticipated a split from Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and a subsequent rivalry between the two. Such anticipation was only heightened in the aftermath of All Out, with Baker having gone into business for herself in the four-way bout for the vacant Women's Title; a four-way which featured Britt, Hayter, Toni Storm, and Hikaru Shida.

For a good few weeks, AEW programming showed a Jamie Hayter who was pissed off at the Roll Model, and the fact that Hayter was regularly getting far greater ovations that her pal suggested that the Brit was on the cusp of a major babyface turn. Instead, AEW doubled-down by having Hayter re-cement her allegiance with D.M.D. as part of Baker's issues with Storm, Athena and, eventually, Saraya.

While many were left frustrated that Tony Khan didn't pull the trigger on that Jamie Hayter babyface turn and a split from Britt Baker, the AEW President has at least been smart enough to realise the crowd support behind Jamie had to be capitalised on. So many times over the years, other promotions have failed to strike while the iron is hot for a talent, but Khan saw the reactions to Hayter and acted accordingly.

Thus, Jamie Hayter is now atop the mountain as the Interim AEW Women's Champion.
