The Rock: Every Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

13. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012)

Journey 2 The Rock
Warner Bros.

A sequel to 2008's Brendan Fraser-starring Journey to the Center of the Earth that nobody really asked for, Journey 2 is nevertheless a solid improvement over its predecessor, doubling down on the absurdity and boasting The Rock uncontrollably sweating his way through an entire costume department's stockpile of grey t-shirts.

How can you hate a film where Michael Caine rides a bumblebee and The Rock sings "What a Wonderful World" while playing a ukulele (and does it pretty damn well, too)? Vanessa Hudgens is also a lot of charming fun in this, and if you're after a no-frills adventure movie that's fine for kids and doesn't take itself remotely seriously, this is a fine choice.

A Journey 3 has been in the works for years, but apparently finding a window in Johnson's schedule has been tricky.
