The Rock: Every Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

8. The Rundown (2003)

The Rundown
Columbia Pictures

Welcome to the Jungle followed up The Scorpion King and was The Rock's first foray into conventional buddy action fare, and remains one of his most critically-acclaimed efforts to date.

It's got Johnson playing opposite Stifler himself, Seann William Scott, not to mention Christopher Walken, which is pretty much reason enough to see this film. That it's also got stylish action, a tone that hearkens back to classic adventure movies and a ludicrously entertaining cameo from Arnold Schwarzenegger (where he figuratively passes the torch to Johnson by telling him, "Have fun") is just the icing on the cake.

Sadly it didn't even make its wildly over-inflated $85 million back, so despite enduring as a cult classic, it never got the sequel it so sorely deserved.
